Glen A. Wilson HS hosted a vaccine clinic to provide free COVID-19 shots to community members and students 12 and older on Wednesday.
Wilson’s vaccine clinic is the third of a series of school-based vaccine clinics launched by Hacienda La Puente Unified School District (HLPUSD) in an effort to keep students and staff protected against COVID-19 since in-person learning has resumed.
Currently, there are two confirmed COVID-19 cases at Wilson, according to HLPUSD COVID-19 dashboard data from Sept. 15.
To host the vaccine clinic, HLPUSD partnered with East Valley Health Center. From 3 pm to 7pm, workers administered vaccines in the media center.
Students between the ages of 12 and 17 needed to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to receive a free Pfizer vaccine.
“Thank you to our community for doing your part to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and supporting health and safety on our campuses,” Andrea Torres wrote in a Sept. HLPUSD ParentSquare newsletter.
The last school-based vaccine clinic was hosted at La Puente High School on Sept. 16.
