“ It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”

Lisa Marie was born on February 1st, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. Her father Elvis died when she was just 9 years old, but she remembered the thrilling essence of her enigmatic father. She was a talented singer and songwriter, having two top 10 hits in To Whom It May Concern, which placed 5th and Now What,  which placed 9th on the Billboard 200.  Three studio albums To Whom It May Concern, Now What, and Storm and Grace, were also met with critical acclaim. It is expected that she became a talented artist just like her father. It was great to see the Presley legacy carry onto Lisa Marie.

Not only was she a talented woman, but also an amazing mother. She was the mother to four children, Riley Keough, Benjamin Keough, Finley Lockwood, and Harper Lockwood. She described herself as  “ferociously protective” of her children. Her First two Children, Riley and Benjamin, are also the children of Danny Keough, who Lisa Marie married from 1988 to 1994. She later had her twin daughters Harper and Finley with her fourth husband Michael Lockwood to which she was married from 2006 to 2021.

Lisa Marie was not the only one with talents, but also her daughter Riley Keough was as well.  Riley is known for her roles in Mad Max: FuryRoad and American Honey. It is great to see that Elvis was not the only actor in the family, although Riley says she is grateful that she was not raised in the shadow of her Grandfather.  She was able to be her own person known for her own talents. Benjamin Keough, Lisa Marie’s only son, sadly died by suicide in July 2020. It was known that he had struggled with his mental health and trying to live up to the Presley name. Since his passing Lisa Marie and his siblings have shared how much they miss him and what a light he was.  Harper and Finley are her twin daughters. Much has not been seen from them although, prior to Lisa Marie’s death she and her ex-husband Michael Lockwood were in a custody battle over the twins, even forcing the twins to live with their grandmother until this custodial battle was settled. The family has made multiple appearances together and are known as the Presley women. It is beautiful to see strong women flourish and become their own people living under such a big name.

The family is preparing to bury Lisa Marie in Graceland alongside her Son Benjamin Keough and her father Elvis Presley on January 22, 2023. Through her successful music career and loving relationship with her kids, Lisa Marie left a lasting legacy worthy of her Fathers’s career.
