Wilson students showed their kindness by participating in kindness spirit week. Kindness Week took place between Jan. 23 to 29.
To show Wilson’s kindness, Associated Student Body (ASB) put together a kindness-themed spirit week in hopes of motivating Wilson students to spread kindness on campus. They want to remind students that kindness can be and go with you everywhere. This spirit week has encouraged all students to get involved and have fun on campus.
ASB member Trinity Tran (11) shares the importance of Kindness, especially in school.
“Oftentimes high school can get stressful and burdensome, and that is why we need a reminder to show a little bit of kindness to the ones around us. This spirit week reminds us of the very importance of kindness.” shared Tran
A great way school spirit has been shown is through the competition between the Senior and Sophomore class. Monday was “Dreaming of Kindness” where students dressed in Pajamas. Tuesday was “double your kindness” where you could win with your friends. Wednesday followed with “There’s no cap for kindness” where students wore their favorite hats. Thursday was followed with “Team up for Kindness” jersey day. Students repped their favorite sports jerseys from Football to Basketball. Friday is “Furry Friend Friday”, on this day students are able to bring their favorite stuffed animals. At the end of the week we will see who takes the most spirit points this spirit week.
Mario Naverette (10) shares how fun spirit week has been and how he enjoys showing his spirit.
“ASB has been doing good with spirit weeks, and I’ve had a lot of fun. I try to have a funny outfit or anything to match the theme just to encourage more people to show more spirit,” says Naverette
With ASB planning spirit days that get everyone excited and in a competitive mood, Fernanda Gálvez (12) shares how students at Wilson love the spirit days and even tend to go the extra mile.
“Some wore simple hats like beanies, and others wore hats from a TV show or cartoon that were either really cute or really funny.” shares Galvez “I think it may encourage more people to start doing the spirit day activities because everyone wants to win.”
ASB encourages students to post on their social media pictures of them participating in spirit days. Many have posted their school spirit on Instagram posting themselves in their jerseys, hats, etc. Their posts do get reposted so everyone can see the amazing spirit Wilson students have.
You can see ASB next hosting Mr. Wilson. They are currently looking for candidates to join! Senior male students should join if they can!
