What was your favorite day from Back To School Spirit Week?
“My favorite day from Back to School Spirit Week was Throwback Thursday because it was the only day I participated in.”

What is one thing that could be improved for future spirit weeks?
“One thing that could be improved for future spirit weeks is extending the submission time to later than 2 PM because many people forget to participate. After they remember, it is already too late.”

How does Back to School Spirit Week compare to the other spirit weeks we have had in the past?
“I thought this year’s Back to School Spirit Week was much more convenient because we could send our submissions online instead of having to wait in a crowded line at lunch just to earn points.”

If you could get a pet, what type of animal would it be?
“I would get a fish because they are calming to look at and do not require constant maintenance. The only hard labor is changing the water in the tank every few weeks.”

How did you participate in Spirit Week?
“I [participated in] Spirit Week by doing what [each day was asking for, such as] posting a [picture] for Missing You Monday. Taking part in Spirit Week was fun because it allowed me to look back at the photos and memories I created with my friends.”

What Spirit Week theme would you like to see in the future?
“[Although] we [have done this previously, I would like to see] Meme Day again in the future; it would be [hilarious] to see people dressed up as memes.”

How did this year’s Spirit Week celebration differ from the previous years’?
“It differs [primarily] from how we [typically] collect our points. Last year, we had a table set up at lunch where people checked in to [earn points for their grade. This year, it was done by taking an image on Zoom or posting on Instagram, due to the current situation].”

What is your favorite part about being a student at Glen A. Wilson?
“My favorite part [about being a student at Glen A. Wilson] is the people. Having that message of being Wildcats, our duty of having the characteristics [of ROAR] and having the students embody these characteristics makes the school so [much more] enjoyable, fun and memorable.”

Are you looking forward to going back to school?
“I am so excited [to go] back to school [but to be able to make that happen sooner], it is our duty to wear masks in public and quarantine at home to flatten the curve, so we can go back to school and have fun with our friends again.”

“My favorite [day from Back to School] Spirit Week was Missing You Monday because it reminds you of all the friends that you were able to spend time with before [COVID-19].”

What does Spirit Week mean to you?
“Spirit Week to me means showing support and having a fun time [through] students [showing] off their school spirit.”

Did the COVID-19 pandemic alter the experience of Spirit Week positively or negatively in your opinion?
“[COVID-19] altered the experience of Spirit Week [negatively because everyone is unable to show their spirit at school]. [Fewer students are participating because] some are not very fond of taking a picture of themselves to show off [for] Spirit Week.”

What is your favorite subject in school?
“My favorite subject is Art because [it lets] me express myself and it is [also very] calming.”

What is your favorite food?
“[Since] I [enjoy eating] spicy foods, [my favorite cuisine is Thai].”

“It was nice that I was able to participate in something that I have been looking forward to.”

“I enjoyed Back to School Spirit Week [because it was a way to show my school spirit since this is my first year in high school]. My favorite [day] was Missing You Monday [because I got to see pictures of everyone].”

Did you make an effort to participate the best you can during the event?
“[I did make an effort because] I wanted to set an example [for] my classmates so hopefully they would [participate too].”

What is your favorite video game of all time?
“Minecraft, because it is a fun game to play and [a way to communicate] with my friends.”

“Live life to the fullest.”

What was the best experience you have had during the past Spirit Week?
“[The best experience I had was] posting [all of the pictures for Missing You Monday] on Instagram and remembering the memories [I] had [with my] friends [before the pandemic].”

Do you believe that the school should hold Spirit Week celebrations more often?
“[I do,] especially now [during] the pandemic; we need something fun [that embraces our status as being Wildcats]. For the freshmen, [it is very important] since we have never gotten the Wilson experience [before].”

Are you looking forward to participating in future Spirit Week events that are hopefully on campus?
“Yes. I [have seen] a lot of people on Instagram posting their Spirit Day [wear] and [I wish to participate in future events since] it [looked] so fun to dress up.”

What is your favorite song at the moment?
“I have a lot of favorites, but [I choose] Summer Mango by Peach Tree Rascals because it is fun and [it gives me summery vibes].”

Cats or dogs?
“Dogs for sure. I am more of an active person and cats [generally] do not run [as] much [as] dogs.”

“My favorite day from Back to School Spirit Week was Missing You Monday because looking at all the memories in my camera roll reminded me of when we were still in school, and how everything was different.”

“Back to School Spirit Week did meet my expectations because I thought that it promoted a feeling that we are all still together rather than apart.”

How does the Back to School Spirit Week compare to the other spirit weeks we have had in the past?
“Compared to our other Back to School Spirit Weeks, it was exciting to see that there were new themes paired with the days.”

What is something that you are extremely scared of?
“Something that I am extremely scared of is not succeeding in life. Succeeding in life is very important to me and thinking of failing in life is very stressful.”

“My favorite day from Back to School Spirit Week was Bring Your Pet to Class because I think my cats and dogs are amazing and I love showing them off in class.”

“My opinion on Back to School Spirit Week was it did meet my expectations because of the creativity of the new themes. Having new themes dedicated to activities that we can participate in at home was very exciting.

How does Back to School Spirit Week compare to the other spirit weeks that we have had in the past?
“Due to the pandemic, this year’s Back to School Spirit Week was different from others. There were completely different themes and ways of participation.”

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would spend your winnings on?
“If I won the lottery, the first thing I would spend my winnings on would be cat treats.”

“If I could move to any country right now, I would move to Japan because of all the astonishing things they have over there: good food, polite people, and great scenery.”
