On Feb. 15, softball lost to El Rancho HS at home with a score of 4-14.
Although the results were not what senior Brianna Gonzalez had wished for, she still holds her head high and hopes for a better outcome next game through more practice and hard work.
“The results were not what we hoped for, but we understand where things went wrong and what we need to work on next,” Gonzalez said. “We hope we have a better outcome next time and come back stronger.”
Despite the tough loss, Gonzalez still enjoyed the game, sharing how much fun she had playing alongside fellow teammate, senior Jasmin Ochoa.
“I love playing with Jasmin, because she is the best pitcher in our team.” Gonzalez said. “We have always been a pitcher and catcher duo since we were kids.”
Similarly, sophomore Brooke Gonzalez shares the joy and happiness she felt when she brought in two runs with a towering hit.
“My favorite moment of the game was when I hit a triple bringing in two runners, Jasmin and Saydrie. This moment was pivotal because it meant we were [not] going to get shut out.” Gonzalez said.
After the game, there was much reflection about how to improve, which the girls have already began planning about.
Junior Xiomara Ledezma shares how her team will continue to practice and work hard in order to get the results they want.
“We have to keep practicing and showing up if we want to get better,” Ledezma said. “The results do not come naturally, so we have to put in the work.”
Regardless of Tuesday’s result, the girls will continue to practice and train in order to make a stronger comeback.
They will be playing next tomorrow in an away game against Northview HS.
