On March 25, softball suffered a loss to Bishop Amat HS  with a final score of 2-3.

The majority of the game held with a 2-2 tie throughout several innings, but ultimately resulted in the team’s defeat.

According to outfield Isabelle Villegas (10), she needs to work on a few things on her own.

“I know I could have done better, but it was one those bad days,” Villegas said. “I did not put in my all and [I would like to improve on] my batting, [so] that way I [can] get on base. I [will] also practice just hitting the ball correctly.”

Likewise, co-captain Emily Bracamonte (12) explains that team camaraderie is the most important factor for success.

“We need to come together because that is when we play the best,” Bracamonte said. “We need to just make our chemistry stronger. But during the game we did hit the pitcher better than we expected.”

However, catcher Vanessa Maldonado (10) believes that their key to success is more than the technical plays.

“There have been occasions where the girls hit when the team is cheering and rallying in the dugout,” Maldonado said. “So I think that being there for our teammates and motivating each other is very important for our success.”

Softball’s next game will be against Covina HS on April 10.
