Daniel Zarzosa (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I am not going to lie, it is really exciting and it has been really really fun, I have really wanted to do this since my freshman year and hopefully, I can take this win!”

What are you most excited about for prom this year?

“I am excited to hang out with my friends, to go out and eat, and just enjoy the party.”

How do you feel now that your high school years are about to come to a close?

“I am a little bummed out, but at the same time, I am excited for this new chapter of my life to start.”

Nick Valencia (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I am excited to be on prom court and I am happy that everyone nominated me and hopefully, I can win Prom King.”

Why do you think you should be crowned Prom King?

“I think I should be crowned Prom King because I represent Wilson really well and I think that I am a really likeable person. I also want to represent my basketball team.”

What was your favorite part about prom last year?

“My favorite part about prom last year was the food and all the fun I had with my senior friends from last year, and my junior friends as well.”

Rafael Safin (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I am very honored to be on prom court, especially in my senior year, as it is my last year and I want to do great and just do as much as I can.”

What are your plans after high school?

“My plans after high school are to attend Cal Poly Pomona and get a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in international business. Things might change, but that is my plan for now.”

What has been one of your favorite memories of high school so far?

“There are a lot of memories that I could choose from but I think one of them was Mr. Wilson. It was just an insane night and everything was just a blur to me but it was a lot of fun.”

Isaias Santiago (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I am pretty honored to be on prom court; I did not think that I would get in but I am grateful that people were kind enough to vote me in so here I am!”

What do you look forward to the most in these last few weeks of school?

“What I look forward to most in these last few weeks of school is appreciating my teachers and being with my friends because after this, I probably will not see them for a very long time and so just trying to enjoy the moment and the little left I have of my childhood.”

What has been something you have learned about yourself throughout high school?

“What I have learned throughout high school is that there is always room for improvement and that even when you think you have done all the work you and you have done everything you could, there is always more you can do. You probably cannot see it yet.”

Ernie Jimenez (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I feel good about being on prom court. It is exciting as it is my senior year and my final year and I would just like to thank the people who nominated me, I was kind of surprised to be nominated, but I would like those people who did and hopefully, I would like to win. But if it is not me, I hope it will be one of my friends.”

How did you enjoy being on prom court last year?

“I felt good about being on prom court last year as well, my friends also nominated me last year and, in fact, I actually won last year. It was a cool experience, being in front of everybody and hearing my name being said just felt good.”

What do you think would make you a great prom king?

“I think what would probably make me a good prom king would be my charisma, my friendliness, and people say I am funny, so probably one of those.”

Victoria Mendez (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I was really happy that I made prom court with my boyfriend Nick and I am happy that we can both run for Prom King and Queen this year.”

What makes you excited about prom this year?

“I am just excited for this fun experience and just to spend the night with Nick, my best friends, and the rest of the senior class.”

Why do you think you should be crowned prom queen?

“I think I should be crowned prom queen because I am representing the Cheer Team and ASB and am grateful for all the memories I have made in each community.”

Nadia Ramirez (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I feel really positive about it and it is definitely encouraging.”

What is something that you are excited about this summer before going to college?

“I am going out of state so that would be fun to start my life over there.”

What are some fun facts about yourself that others might not know about you?

“I like to draw a lot and I like reptiles. People are always like, ‘Oh my God, you like lizards?’ I also plan on becoming a tattoo artist.”

Haisyl Ng (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“It is an experience that most people look forward to leading to the [end of] high school and I just look forward to having a good time at prom.”

What groups/activities/communities on campus have helped make your experience so memorable?

“I am involved in Dance Team, Red Cross, ASB, and I started my own club, so there are a lot of things I have done as well as community building. I think getting involved in general allows you to make memories with people all around campus, and that made my experience in high school something that I will never forget.”

What is some advice you have for underclassmen?

“Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and get involved in organizations available on campus. That also means just having a lot of class spirit and joining all the opportunities available to you.”

Caroline Gin (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I am so excited to be on prom court for another year and I love talking to the other prom court candidates. It is just a fun experience.”

What senior event are you looking forward to the most before you graduate?

“I am excited for our finals and for our senior beach day because there was a great turnout for our first one and just coming together as a big community that we have.”

What is something you would tell your freshman-year self if you got the chance?

“Get better grades, take more community college classes, and you are going to turn out fine!”

Kailyne Zaarour (12)

How do you feel about being on prom court?

“I feel really honored to be on Prom Court, even though it came as a complete shock to me, [and] I appreciate all those who nominated me. It is such a pleasure to be on a court with such amazing boys and girls.”

What was your favorite senior event this year?

“My favorite events would be the senior bonfire day. It was really fun to hang out with all of my friends, spend a couple hours around the fire, especially on a cold day. [This event] was a lot of fun.”

What is one thing you have learned throughout your senior year?

“One thing I have learned throughout my senior year is to take advantage of the moments you are around your friends, especially as for college everyone is going their separate ways. So around my senior year, I made sure that we made as many new friends as possible and hang out as much as we can and cherish those moments together.”

Philip Ea (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“I was honestly surprised because I thought I was not eligible as I thought I did not return my library books but then I was excited and did a little chicken dance when hearing I made it onto court!”

Why do you think that you should be crowned prom king?

“I think I should be crowned prom prince because I love Fortnite.”

What are some of your hobbies?

“I love dancing, watching movies, but most importantly, playing Fortnite.”

Ryan Villacorte (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“I was kind of surprised because I didn’t even know that I was eligible to be nominated onto prom court. It was surprising to me, but I am kind of excited for it now.”

Do you want to make it to homecoming or prom court for your senior year?

“I think I would like to make it onto homecoming court during my senior year because they get to ride in the cars at the game and I think that would be cool. Also, if I run for Homecoming King against my friends, it would be fun to have a battle between them and me.”

What are you looking forward to most at prom?

“I am [mostly] excited for the food, because last year my friends said that the food was delicious and I just want to have a good time. Homecoming was really fun with my friends, so hopefully Prom will be too.”

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“It was very unexpected and I’m super excited for Prom Night.”

What do you look forward to most about prom this year?

“I am really excited to go with my girlfriend, Natalie.”

What do you look forward to in your senior year?

“I look forward to next soccer season and the memories I will make with my friends.”

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“I was very surprised and shocked that I was voted [on].”

What is something you look forward to about senior year coming up?

“I am excited knowing that college is coming up next and that I’m going to be able to do stuff on my own.”

What are some fun facts people might not know about you?

“I have blond hair and I play soccer.”

Anthony Morales (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“When I was told I made it onto prom court I was surprised because I did not think I was going to be picked at all.”

What is your favorite memory of high school so far?

“My favorite memory of high school so far would be the Friday football games when I am out there playing with my boys.”

What is something people would not usually know about you?

“Something people would not usually know about me is that I like to watch documentaries on animals.”

Alicia Park (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“It was really unexpected but I was excited to hear that I was a part of the court.”

Do you want to be on Homecoming or Prom Court for senior year?

“I would ideally like to be on Homecoming Court, but I would be fine with being on either one of them. The reason why [I prefer] Homecoming court is because of the Corvettes that court members get to ride in.”

How will you be spending your summer before senior year?

“I will most likely be hanging out with my friends and traveling with my family.”

Halo Kwok (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“When I was first told that I made it onto prom court, I was really excited since I have never gotten the opportunity to be a part of something like this before, and I am looking forward to all the great memories I will be making at Prom.”

How do you feel about senior year approaching?

“With senior year approaching real soon, I feel really nervous about where I will be in the future. College applications are coming up real quick and I am both anxious and excited to see what my future holds.”

What is something you have enjoyed throughout your junior year?

“During my junior year, I have had the pleasure of being a part of many different activities and programs at Wilson including Journalism and marching band. I have also enjoyed spending time with my friends both on and off campus.”

Sofie Carranza (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“When I first saw my name, I was surprised because I did not really expect it. I feel like it [would be] a really good experience and I am excited for Prom Night!”

What are you looking forward to most about prom?

“I am really looking forward to just spending the night with my friends and getting ready together. Also just seeing everyone from school there is really exciting because it’s really different seeing them in like a completely different setting with different hair and different clothes, and I think it would just be really fun to see everyone dressed up.”

What have been some of your favorite memories throughout junior year?

“Some of my favorite memories from this year are joining the Cross Country Team. The whole Cross Country season and [experience of] meeting new people was just super fun. I met so many new people compared to last year and it has made such a big impact on my life.”

Celine Zaarour (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“It was pretty exciting. I wanted to be on prom court so when I found out that I made it, I was really excited to be on it.”

Would you like to be in Homecoming or Prom Court for your senior year?

“I would definitely like to enjoy this special moment again next year.”

What are some goals you have for your last year of high school?

“Some goals I would like to keep up for next year include keeping up my grades, join many clubs and apply to be in [their] cabinet.”

Dina Barrientos (11)

How did you feel when you were told that you made it onto prom court?

“I felt very overwhelmed when I saw my name [and] Yuu Duffy notified me about it, but then later on I realized that it is a great opportunity and experience.”

What is something you have learned throughout your junior year?

“I learned to work hard and persevere through hard times.”

What is something you are excited about for senior year?

“I am excited for the senior events and hopefully a powderpuff game!”
