KIWIN’S and Key Club Divisions 35 East and West attended their monthly Divisional Council Meeting (DCM) at Cortez Park on Apr. 28.

A DCM is held to update other clubs about activities and accomplishments made in the past month. This month, attendees also gathered to decorate Easter eggs and cards for children in hospitals.

According to Key Club president junior Mireya Castillo, the meeting allowed members to unite to support children in need for the holidays.

“It was held to bring up spirits and keep [the kids] company at their stay in the hospitals,” Castillo said. “[However], ordering more food would help next time because we surpassed the expected division attendance.”

Additionally, Key Club Lieutenant Governor (LTG) junior Robin Yi believes better preparation could improve the attendance at club events.

“Key Clubbers should be attending events at the time stated so others [will not] have to wait,” Yi said. “We estimated the duration of [the event] for too long, so we spent time being unproductive.”

Overall, KIWIN’S LTG sophomore Angel Lee thinks the event went well and appreciates the club’s hard work.

“This event went better [than] expected because many members attended to represent [our club],” Lee said. “It was nice to see others happy and benefitting from our meeting. Many members show dedication, and their hard work [does not] go unnoticed.”

KIWIN’S and Key Club’s next event is Ribfest on May 4.
