Associated Student Body (ASB) hosted its Homecoming Spirit Week from Oct. 14 to Oct. 18.

Chosen by ASB, this year’s homecoming revolved around the theme of Great Gatsby. Students participated in Jersey Sports Monday, Favorite Band or Artist Tuesday, Wear Your Pajamas Wednesday, Throwback  Thursday and Cardinal Friday. In accordance with the spirit week, ASB also planned a Homecoming rally in the gym on Friday, Oct. 18.

According to ASB vice president junior Matthew Chan,  this year’s homecoming includes several drastic changes in comparison to previous dance planned by ASB.

“Homecoming is going to be a lot different this year because it is [being held] in the gym and we [are] working with a really good company this year [to] bring out the best from the Great Gatsby,” Chan said.

Moreover, ASB head of rally commissioner group junior Sally Pan believes that the spirit week raised excitement for the event.

“Through this spirit week, students are able to participate for spirit points,  which also encourages enthusiasm and excitement for the homecoming dance,” Pan said. “It is rewarding for ASB to see that the student body enjoys what we have planned.”

As stated by freshman Charlie Snyder, Wednesday’s spirit day became his favorite.

“I would have to say [my favorite day of the spirit week is] Pajama day because you get to come to school in your comfy clothes and just hang out,” Snyder said.

The homecoming dance will take place in the gym on Saturday, Oct. 19.
