Is there a teacher you are thankful for? Why?

“The only teacher I have been able to ‘get to know’ is Mrs. Lopez-Hernandez, or the art teacher [at school]. I am grateful for the help she has been able to provide for me throughout the three years I have been in her classes.”

What does Thanksgiving remind you of and why?

“I would say that the main thing Thanksgiving reminds me of is family. I have a very big family, but i do not see them all as often as I would like. So, the holidays will always be mostly associated with family, to me.”

Name one highlight of your break. Why was it special?

“One highlight of my break was being able to spend time with my sister and [my] boyfriend. We were all able to bake and cook for Thanksgiving together, which was definitely a fun and memorable time overall.”

What was your favorite part about break and why?

“My favorite part about break was the lantern festival I attended. The lanterns were really cool and I ate good food. I had fun making the lantern and playing card games next to the lake.” 

Did you do any things that you regularly did not have time to do during school? What were they?

“I got to do my college apps during break. I did not do them during school because I got lazy.”

Name three things you are thankful for and why?

“I am thankful for my friends and family because I spend a lot of quality time with them. I am also thankful for my health as it withstood a lot of unhealthy habits for the past three months.”

What did your family do for Thanksgiving?

“My family went to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving break. Although, I could not be there with my family, I had fun receiving souvenirs when they came back from their trip.”

Did you travel anywhere during break? Where did you go and how was it?

“I did not travel anywhere during my break as I had to study for my upcoming tests after Thanksgiving break. During my break, I invested in retail therapy that helped relieve some of the stress induced by my upcoming exams.”

Did you do any things that you regularly did not have time to do during school? What were they?

“I had friends invite me over for friendsgiving. I enjoyed the food and the company of my friends. But most importantly, I am thankful for every one of them for supporting me and being there when I need them.”

What traditions does your family partake in for Thanksgiving?

“In my family, we never did much for Thanksgiving. We just took this time to relax and we go on hikes from time to time.”

What were some highlights of your break?

“Some highlights of my break was going thrifting with my cousins and friends in San Jose. We also played basketball and volleyball.”

Is there a teacher you are thankful for? Why?

“A teacher I am thankful for is Mr. Dejohn Brown. Mr. Brown is very patient with our class and always does his best to keep up on schedule. Even though sometimes we are not as attentive, he always helps us.”

What does Thanksgiving remind you of and why?

“Thanksgiving reminds me of showing kindness to those who have been in your life. [This is] because I have been around those people that showed me kindness and I am very thankful for them.”

Did you catch up on any new movies or TV series? What were they?

“[My friends and I]  went to the movie theaters to watch [the Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) movie] that we were waiting to watch together. It was a great experience!”

What was your favorite part about break and why?

“My favorite part of the break was hanging out with friends and family. [Doing so] gave me a chance to relax and unlock new memories.”

Name three things you are most thankful for and why?

“I am thankful for my family and friends. I am also thankful for my dog. I am thankful for my family because they support me. I am thankful for my dog [be]cause he is chill.”

How do you feel about being back in school?

“I have mixed feelings about it. I am looking forward to winter break. I do not want to go back [to school] but like I only need to push for a couple weeks before break.”

Did you try something new during break? If so, how did it make you feel?

“My favorite part was getting to sleep in. I also was able to hang out with friends. Sleep is good so I was not sleep deprived and I was able to have fun hanging out with [my] friends.”

What Thanksgiving traditions does your family do?

“My family does not have any Thanksgiving traditions. In Korea, we do not celebrate Thanksgiving that much.”

Any highlights of your break? What were they?

“I had a friendsgiving with my friends! Two of them slept over and we had so much fun!”

Who and what are you most thankful for? Why?

“I am thankful for my family and friends! I am thankful that I get to have them by my side. I am thankful for my family because they have been by my side since the start of my life. They cheered me up and made me happy whenever I was down. I am very thankful for my friends because they keep me company when I feel lonely. I am always happy when I am with [them] because I know that they are willing to stay by my side as time flies.”

What was your favorite part about break and why?

“My favorite part of the break was going out with friends as much as I could. Spending time with friends during the break without having to stress about school was really relaxing.”

If you could pick any song to describe your break what would it be? Why?

“One song that reminds me of my break is Silver Lining by Grent Perez. It reminds [me] of the break since I listened to the song a lot over the week.”

Name three things you are most thankful for and why?

“Three things I am thankful for are my friends, my family and my dog. I am thankful for these three things because they are there for me and help make life less stressful.”
