On Tuesday, Oct. 9,  girls’ volleyball suffered a defeat against Covina HS with a score of 0-3.

With this being the last game of the season, the girls hosted senior night to recognize varsity seniors for their hard work and dedication.

According to defensive specialist Alysia Huerta (12), the girls practiced their fundamentals and positioning in preparation for the game.

“We gave our all in practice yesterday during serving, hitting, and passing,” Huerta said. “The team worked on [perfecting their] technique in hopes to win the last game of the season.”

In addition, outside hitter Imani Lee (9) and her teammates showed their support by decorating the gym with posters for each senior and presenting them with gift baskets.

“This year we showed our appreciation towards the seniors by giving them gifts and posters [and introducing] each one before the game,” said Lee. “[Our positivity and support] contributed to our performance on the court.”

All in all, captain Brianna Gonzales (12) will cherish the memories the team has made and motivate the rest of the team for next year.

“I want to thank the girls for an amazing year and to let them know to keep pushing,” Gonzalez said.

The girls will not be advancing to CIF and will continue to practice off season.
