Girls Golf Takes on La Habra HS

On Aug. 30, girls’ golf lost to La Habra HS with a score of 280-236.

The friendly match was played at Westridge Golf Club in La Habra, covering the first nine holes of the course.

Head Coach Juan Munoz, who has been advising the wildcat’s golf teams for over 5 years, sees the match as an additional opportunity for practice sessions in preparation for league play.

“I hope that our team gets some practice [throughout this week’s matches],” Munoz commented. “[Maybe we can even] meet some new friends through playing with teams that are not in our league.”

Additionally, Captain Beatrice Sun (11) shares her hopes for the team during this upcoming season.

“As captain, my hopes are for our team to continue to work hard to improve our scores,” Sun said. “Of course, I also hope that we have fun [along the way!]”

Continuing, Erin Shin (10) speaks out about her experience with golf and what she looks forward to in the league play.

“I have been playing golf for 5 to 6 years,” Shin said. “For this season, I am excited to see my teammates’ progress and finally compete with other schools.”

Girls’ golf’s official season will begin on Sep. 12 with a match against Diamond Bar HS at Industry Hills Golf Club.
