On Tuesday Sept. 24 girls’ golf triumphed over Rowland HS with a score of 252 -270.
To prepare, the girls practiced at various golf courses and utilized drills to improve upon their driving and putting. The team also refined their performance by working on short and long games.
According to captain Ashley Ko (12), the match facilitated a new sisterhood amongst her and her teammates.
“This week’s game showed how well our team gets along and [incorporated our new members,]” Ko said. “We all bonded quickly and stayed positive mentally.”
Despite their success, captain Rocelyn Lee (12) believes the team can continue to improve on their performance.
“Our regiment is sufficient and keeps our skills sharp for games,” Lee said. “However, it can be improved by [more] emphasis on long distance driving.”
Overall, player Myla Romero (11), retains high hopes for the remainder of the team’s league season.
“We played a good game and [I believe] we have a good chance of making CIF,” Romero said. “We can achieve this goal by [practicing] and keeping aspirations for CIF high.”
Girls golf will face Ayala HS in their next league game on Tuesday Oct. 1.
