FBLA attended Leadership Development Conference to further their business goals

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) on Nov. 14.

LDI provides FBLA members the ability to learn new skills that correspond with the business world. Hosts presented workshops that gave FBLA members insight on what it is like to be a leader and also prepared members for future competitions. These competitions revolve around the business category and include public speech and knowledge-based events.

As stated by vice president junior Justin Huh, LDI gave extensive knowledge to attendees through interactive workshops.

“The LDI event was not mandatory, but attending allowed members to prepare for future competitions. There were great keynote speakers, and the event helped FBLA members focus on the smaller things that lead to a [successful] career,” Huh said.

Furthermore, treasurer sophomore Sandra Pan believes that the LDI convention helped her gain valuable insight about her life.

“LDI [showed me] a whole new perspective; originally, the pandemic discouraged me from actively networking, but attending LDI motivated me to take action and [continue to contribute towards FBLA with all my efforts],” Pan said.

Additionally, member junior Sean Lai recounted that the experience allowed him to understand what it was like to be self-sufficient.

“The experience was great since it was an opportunity for us to learn how to rely on ourselves. LDI allowed me to choose which workshops to attend, teaching me [how to be more] independent and expand on my interests,” Lai said.

FBLA will host their next meeting on Dec. 3.
