The Glen A. Wilson Dance Company hosted its fall dance showcase on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The show revolved around the theme “Let the Groove In.” Various groups of dance team members displayed their talents in a number of different performances.

According to Wilson All-Male captain senior Gabe Mision, the show differs from many of dance’s previous performances.

“[The dance team] has never had a fall dance show,” Mision said. “We typically [organize] shows in the spring, [but] the reason we [decided to] have one in fall is to see how our competition routines look before we compete.”

Furthermore, captain senior Isabel Carmona hoped the show allowed the audience to realize the amount of dedication dance team contributes.

“Students who attended this performance saw what the dance team is all about, [and were] entertained by some hip-hop, jazz and contemporary routines,” Carmona said. “It is a new experience for a lot of our dancers to teach to a large group.”

In addition, team member sophomore Kiani Jimenez felt that the dance team’s cooperation help aided the show’s success.

“I love our team’s enthusiasm and I can really feel [that we have] [a very] positive energy when we dance together,” Jimenez said. “I am happy to be able to perform and have [a fun experience] with this year’s seniors.”

The Glen A. Wilson Dance Company’s first competition will take place on Dec. 7 at West Covina HS.
