On Dec. 8, Glen A. Wilson boys’ varsity soccer fell to Don Lugo HS by a score of 3-0.
The Wildcats fought hard, but could not connect the pieces to overcome a valiant opponent in Don Lugo.
Max Lee (11) voiced his thoughts on Wednesday’s loss.
“I am very disappointed in our loss yesterday,” Lee said. “We had many opportunities to score, but we just could not find the back of the net. We need to be way more aggressive next game.”
According to Ethan Rodiguez (11), Don Lugo was able to capitalize on the Wildcats’ mistakes.
“We were burned out by the second half, and they came out with a lot more energy than us,” Rodriquez said. “They outran us, leading them to a quick three goals. We definitely need to work on conditioning for our next game, but we will be ready.”
According to Aryanna Aguilar (12), regardless of the loss, the Wildcats picked each other up throughout the entirety of the matchup.
“I think the team did very well despite their loss,” Aquilar said. “Everyone worked together as a team, never failing to pass the ball and rely on one another to have their back. Although Don Lugo did not show good sportsmanship, our team pushed through with class!”
Boys’ soccer will look to bounce back on Dec. 18 as they face off against California HS.
