Associated Student Body (ASB) coordinated the first Club Food Day of the school year during lunch on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

This event gave clubs an opportunity to fundraise by selling a variety of foods including Jamba Juice, Costco pizza and more.

According to ASB president senior Melanie Cruz, ASB faced challenges when arranging for this event but eventually overcame them through communication.

“Some obstacles [we faced] while preparing Club Food Day [included] making sure that all the clubs [knew] what they [were] selling,” Cruz said. “However, our club commissioner group [did] an amazing job ensuring that most clubs [got] to sell their first choice item.”

In addition, Red Cross president senior Mystie Ng believes that selling boba during this event is a success towards Red Cross.

“We decided to sell boba because, looking [back] at past years, boba [remained] one of the items that sold out quickly and made a lot of profit,” Ng said. “We plan to use this money for our future events and it will also go towards the homeless shelters.”

Ultimately, freshman Sandra Pan enjoyed the food she bought at her first Club Food Day.

“Although there were long lines to [purchase] food, I still had a positive experience because I was able to enjoy a delicious lunch all while supporting the clubs on campus,” Pan said.

ASB’s next event is the Winter Sports Rally during lunch on Friday, Jan. 17.
