“The Glen A. Wilson’s Robotics team gets the highest score once again!”
The Glen A. Wilson’s robotics team, Alpha Genesis, competed in a robotics competition at Webb School High on Nov. 12. The team had a successful match, dominating the event and holding the highest score out of all participating schools.
Senior build captain Max Lee explains what they did the best that gave them the highest score.
“I feel we did very well and performed consistently. We all tried our best and had an excellent placement. Our team still has a long way to go before reaching our fullest potential.” said Lee
Furthermore, senior journal captain Nathan Lee explains what he wants his team to take away from this experience.
“I hope our team can understand the idea of gracious professionalism. Not only being competitive but encouraging and helping out the teams around us to build a healthy environment,” says Lee
Lastly, senior member Kevin Xiong explains that there is still a lot to take away from the team’s mistakes.
“In four of the five matches, we did well, but in our fifth and last match, our robot controllers broke so we [could not] perform. I hope our team learns from this experience how to adapt and confront unexpected challenges we face,” explained Xiong. “I hope we learn to prepare better for such accidents and how to address those issues better.”
Alpha Genesis’ Team 1 will continue progressing in their robotics league with their next league meet scheduled to be on Dec.4.
