A month of Wildcats in quarantine

What have you been doing to stay occupied during this quarantine?

“I have been keeping myself occupied by trying new things like baking and making desserts. I also have more time to read and make crafts.”

What emotions are you feeling while being quarantined? Why?

“My heart aches for the people losing their jobs and filing for unemployment. The world is hurting, and the best thing I can do for others is staying at home.” 

What events were you looking forward to going but got canceled because of the virus?

“I was looking forward to going to my first and final prom, as well as senior activities like Gradbash and graduation.”

Are you a day or night person?

“I am a night person for sure.”

How have you been in contact with your friends?

“I have been keeping contact with my friends through social media and messaging platforms.”

So far, how do you feel about being quarantined at home?

“Quarantine has actually been helpful in relieving some stress from school.”

What do you enjoy about being quarantined at home?

“I enjoy being able to wake up at a later time and sleeping longer, although my sleep schedule is messed up.”

What is something fun that you did during this quarantine?

“At first, I would go on hikes with friends to have some semblance of fun. But as the situation escalated, we were forced to stay at home and I quickly became bored.”

If you could pick any senior event that was canceled to go to, which one would you pick?

“Like most seniors, I was really looking forward to prom and having ‘one of the best’ nights of our lives.”

If you could go anywhere right now, where would you want to go? 

“I would go out and eat korean barbecue because it is yummy and I miss it.”

How did your schedule change due to quarantine? 

“My schedule is not as busy anymore and I have a lot more free time.”

What is something new you learned during this quarantine?

“A new skill I learned during quarantine was the importance of communication and I also learned how to cook.”

What are your feelings about online classes?

“Online classes are not my favorite way to learn but I have been trying to make the most out of them.”

What are you looking forward to after this quarantine?

“After quarantine I am  looking forward to seeing all my friends and getting back to my regular schedule.”

Sleep in or wake up early? 

“Sleep in because I love sleeping and it is important to get rest.”

“I have been playing video games and doing schoolwork to stay occupied.”

How has the coronavirus changed your daily life?

“The coronavirus has changed my daily life since we have to stay quarantined at home and not be able to go to school.”

What is your opinion on online classes?

“Online classes have been helping me prep for the AP exams.”

Do you prefer going to school or staying at home?

“The coronavirus forces me to stay at home.”

Would you rather always be extremely cold or extremely hot?

“I would rather always be cold because I can keep putting on more clothes.”

What is something new you learned during this quarantine?

“I learned how to play badminton, bake, get around Taiwan and ice skate during quarantine.”

What emotions are you feeling while being quarantined? 

“I feel more independent during quarantine and [more decisive] when excluded from mutual relationships.”

What is your opinion on online classes?

“I feel like it is harder for me to wake up for class because of the time zone differences, since I am currently in Taiwan. I think online class is the closest way to interact with teachers and students due to the situation we are in, compared to a normal school day.”

Do you prefer calling or texting your friends?

“I usually text my friends more often, but I prefer calling or Facetiming because it is nice to hear their voices and see their faces again.”

Do you still wake up the same time as you did when you went to school? If not, what time?

“I do wake up at the same time for school, if not earlier during the weekdays to attend online classes for my extracurriculars and school. Otherwise, on the weekends I wake up an hour or two later. It usually depends on what I do that day.”

What do you enjoy about being quarantined at home?

“I enjoy being able to sleep in later than normal and having a little more freedom in general.”

How has the coronavirus affected your second semester?

“It made it harder to study for my AP World History exam as well as doing work for a lot of my classes, since it is hard for me to focus and work efficiently at home.”

What events were you looking forward to going but got canceled because of the coronavirus?

“I was looking forward to going to the Battle of the Classes this year.”

What are your expectations once you go back to school?

“My expectations are that by the time we go back to school, a lot of things are going to be back to normal for the most part, except that we would probably be a little more behind than we should be in academics.”

Do you prefer going to school or staying at home?

“I prefer going to school.”

What have you planned to do over this quarantine?

“I planned to focus on self-care during this quarantine because most of my time was spent on school.”

What events were you looking forward to going but got canceled because of the coronavirus?

“An event I was looking forward to attending but got canceled was FBLA’s State Leadership Conference.” 

What emotions are you feeling while being quarantined? 

“Although it has already been a month of quarantine, I am still surprised about how quickly the virus was able to spread.”

Do you still wake up the same time as you did when you went to school? If not, what time?

“No, I find myself waking up around noon.”

What is your favorite movie and why?

“My favorite movie is Crazy Rich Asians because it has a few of my favorite actors.”

“I somewhat learned how to cook from my dad.”

How has the coronavirus affected your second semester?

“The coronavirus affected my motivation and will to work during the second semester due to the ‘new’ learning that you would experience going to school physically.”

What do you enjoy about being quarantined at home?

“I enjoy being able to sleep in and basically having my own rules throughout the day.”

How have you been in contact with your friends?

“I have been in contact with my friends through social media and video games, but that still does not compare to seeing them in person.”

What is your favorite show and why?

“My favorite show is The Flash because of the [interesting] storyline and characters.”
