Voices of Wilson hosted its annual fall concert on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
During the concert, the four choirs—Rhythm, Harmony, Sorelle and Aria—displayed their vocal abilities by singing songs that incorporated the theme of music, such as “Do You Hear the People Sing?” and “If Music Be the Food of Love.” The concert also raised funds for future competitions.
According to Aria president senior Kristin Sung, choir encountered many difficulties while preparing for the concert but, in the end, they came together as a group and executed their performance well.
“A difficulty we encountered while practicing [is] being able to hear all of the choirs practice our mass choir music,” Sung said. “The first time all the groups [were able] to perform together was the day of the concert, so we had to be extra focused when working in blending and tuning within the choirs.”
Furthermore, Aria vice president senior Yolanda Chen believes that the concert allowed members to present their talents to friends and family.
“The fall concert lets us show [the audience] every level of choir has been working hard [by] preparing a variety of music and has a lot to present to the community,” Chen said. “It also sets a foundation for the rest of the year as each concert gets progressively better.”
All in all, Aria member sophomore Ronald Lu is proud of the performance the Voices of Wilson displayed.
“The rehearsals prior [to the concert] were executed beautifully,” Lu said. “The performance surpassed my expectations since this was the best we have ever sang this whole year.”
Choir will host its annual Winter Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
