Jake Luo as Mr. Fashion

What made you interested in fashion?

“There are a lot of influencers like Kanye West, and I admire how they can put simple things together and make it look so incredible. Plus fashion is a way to express myself because people look at your outfit before they even get to know you so it makes up my first impression.”

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy?

“People have been bringing back fanny packs. Back then, Dwayne Johnson made it cool but then it died down and now it is cool again. Also dad shoes. All the big end fashion brands are making dad shoes and that adds to our fashion culture.”

“Fashion is a concept, not a club, so I did not get a recommendation letter. But when I submitted my [application] I got accepted and I feel I need to represent fashion.”

What do you think your outfit says about you?

“Usually if I am wearing bright colors I am in a happy place and out to have fun. But when I am matching dark colors like red I just want to keep cool. When I want attention I just dress crazy and people do not understand it but the concept of fashion is that it is not supposed to be convenient or understood by everyone.”
